The body is said to be a temple and the indweller is the eternal master.
Discard the withered flowers of ignorance and worship with the understanding รข€ล“I am That.รข€

Two hours of your search amounts to great meditation. We forget everything else in finding the "paramporul"  :)

Also your post reminds me of Poosalar Naayanar, in whose memory the Siva temple at Thirunindraoor stands.

AMARNATH CAVE &TWO PIGEONS STORY

 OM NAMAH SHIVAYA
AMARNATH CAVE &TWO PIGEONS STORY

The Amarnath Cave has a special significance in the Hindu
religion. As per legend, Lord Shiva had chosen this cave to
describe the secrets of immortality and formation of the universe
to Maa Parvati.
Once Maa Parvati asked Lord Shiva that when He started wearing
the beads of heads. On this, Lord Shiva replied whenever you
were born. Maa Parvati asked – why are you immortal and I keep
on dying again and again? Lord Shiva said that this is due to the
Amar Katha. Maa Parvati insisted to hear that Amar Katha and
after convincing Lord for a long time, Lord Shiva decided to
narrate that story to Maa Parvati. To narrate the story, Lord Shiva started looking for an absolutely lonely place so that no living being can hear that Amar Katha except for Maa Parvati. He finally found the Amarnath Cave. To reach there, He left all his belonging on the way like His bull Nandi at Pahalgam, His Moon at Chandanwari, His snakes at the banks of Lake Sheshnag, His son Ganesha at Mahagunas Parvat and at Panjtarni, He left his Five Elements (Earth, Fire, Water, Air and Sky).
After this, Lord Shiva entered in this holy Amarnath Cave with
Maa Parvati. Lord Shiva sat on the Deer Skin and took a samadhi.
To further make sure that not even a single living being could
hear the secret Amar Katha, He created a rudra named Kalagni
and ordered him to set fire around the cave so that everything
living around that place could be destroyed. He then started
narrating the story of immortality to Maa Parvati. But in spite of all
these efforts, one egg remained protected under the deer skin on
which the Lord was sitting. But it was considered as non-living. A
pair of pigeons was born out of that egg and supposedly became
Amar(immortals). Pilgrims can still see the pigeon pair while going
towards the Amarnath Cave.

May Lord Shiva Bless us all with Happiness,
Prosperity, and Health & Wisdom!!

Varma Kalai-marma vidya

Varma Kalai (Tamil: เฎต๔พฝ๔พฝ๔พฝ๔พฝเฎฎ๔พฐ๔พฐ๔พฐ๔พฐเฎ•ைเฎฒ) is a martial art and esoteric healing art originating
from ancient Tamil Nadu in South India. The name literally translate as "The Art of Vital
Points". It is an element of the Tamil martial art Kuttu varisai.
Special Varamakalai.
1. Narambadi
2. Varma adi
3. Varma Koothiram
4. Kurunthadi Varmam
History
Legend has it that Lord Siva taught this art form to his son Lord Murugan and Lord
Murugan taught this art to the sage Agastya, foremost of the Siddhar's, during the times
of Sangam Literature.[citation needed] He transferred the knowledge of this art to
other Siddhar's and he also wrote treatises on this art in Tamil. The presence of shrines to
Agathiar in Courtallam suggests that he researched the art there.

Though Varma Kalai has its own form of katas and procedures, it was closely assorted withSilambam's component Kuttu varisai and Kalaripayattu. Knowledge of Varma Kalai wasconsidered vital in both arts to become a Grand Master.[citation needed] The teachers werecalled as Aasan (Tamil: เฎ†เฎšா๔พน) and the grand masters were called as Periyaasan (Tamil:ெเฎชாிเฎฏாเฎš๔พน) or Iyan (Tamil: เฎเฎฏ๔พน).Historically, Varma Kalai has been one of the arts taught to those of royal blood.[citationneeded] However, even royalty were required to pass the stringent requirements for discipleship. The schools received nivandhanams (donation with high respect) from the Kings of TamilKingdom (Chera, Chola, Pandya and Pallava. Aasan and Periyaasan of Varma Kalai were highlyrespected.[citation needed]The art was taught only to selected individuals, but due to the strict requirements for newstudents it never gained large numbers of adherents. Due to its secretive nature, Varma Kalairemained largely unknown even in India until the release of the movie Indian, in which KamalHaasan played the role of a Varma Kalai expert. The film's popularity generated a resurgence ofinterest in the art.[citation needed]Currently Varma Kalai is practised in Tamil Nadu and Kerala, usually as part of Kuttuvarisai and Kalari training.Requirements for TrainingVarma Kalai teachers are highly selective in their choice of students. Disciples must meet anumber of criteria; beyond martial arts competence they are required to have an understanding ofbiology, mathematics, political science, astronomy, physics, chemistry, Saamuthriga Lakshanam,Yoga, military tactics, horsmanship, elephant riding, charioteering and Hindu philosophy(Saiva,Vaisnava, Saktha, Koumara, Boutha, Samana) etc. The Varma Kalai martial artist is notallowed to teach the art to others until he receives Deeksha from his Aasan or Periyaasan as inrecognition of him as an Aasan.
